Ramboda Falls drops 109 m in two tiers at Ramboda Pass, right beside the A5 between Kandy and Nuwara Eliya. It is the eleventh-highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and the easiest big fall to see on the drive up into the hills.

What you’ll walk through

The water is the Panna Oya, a tributary of the Kotmale Oya, falling from about 945 m. The falls are seen from the Ramboda Pass area on the A5; we have not found a reliable description of a walking route to the base.

Watch for traffic at the roadside, and for wet rock near the water.

Access & permits

We could not confirm access rules or any fee for the viewpoints.
