Dunhinda Falls: The Walk From Badulla
about 2 km round trip · Easy · Badulla District · Uva Province

Dunhinda Falls drops 64 m on the Badulu Oya, about 5 km from Badulla town. Its name comes from the spray: "dun" means mist or smoke in Sinhala, and the base of the falls sits in a permanent cloud of it.
What you’ll walk through
A signboard and a gated path mark the entrance at Dunhinda Junction on the Badulla-Mahiyangana road, with parking nearby. A footpath of about 1 km leads to the falls. A smaller fall, Kuda Dunhinda, can be seen from the main path; reaching it takes a rougher forest trail.
The rock near the base is wet from spray. Watch your footing.
Access & permits
Entered through a gated path at Dunhinda Junction. We could not confirm the current entry fee.
