Baker's Falls drops about 20 m in two streams into a rock pool on the Belihul Oya, in the cloud forest of Horton Plains National Park. It sits on the park's circular trail, about 3 km from the entrance, on the same loop as World's End.

What you’ll walk through

The path from the main entrance crosses the montane grassland of the plateau and drops into forest of rhododendrons and ferns to the falls, where spray hangs over the pool. Sambar deer are often seen on the way. Most walkers take in Baker's Falls as part of the full loop with Little and Big World's End.

The plunge pool is deep and dangerous. Do not swim, and take care on the wet rock in the spray.

Access & permits

Inside Horton Plains National Park, run by the Department of Wildlife Conservation (DWC). A park ticket is required and is bought at the park entrance. We do not print the fee here because we could not confirm the current figure from the DWC itself; check dwc.gov.lk or ask us before you go.
